Geico Assessment Test Practice Questions and Answers

Multitasking Simulation

Geico's multitasking simulation is a test used to assess your ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The test consists of several different tasks that must be completed in a specific order and with limited time.

The online test is taken from your home device and typically lasts 15 minutes. It includes tasks such as sorting email, answering phone calls, and entering data into a computer. You will need to switch between the tasks efficiently and manage your time to complete all of the tasks before the end of the test.

This is a recreation of what the test looks like:

As you can see, this section of the test has you gathering relevant information from a short message and documenting it using a basic interface.

Tip: Practice multitasking and time management skills prior to taking the test. It is also important to stay focused and not get overwhelmed by the number of tasks.
Additionally, you can try to focus on one task at a time and prioritize the task that needs to be done first.

Reading Comprehension

The Geico Reading test is similar to other question categories you might already be familiar with. You will be shown texts including 3 short paragraphs and asked 5-6 multiple-choice questions about each text.

You will need to answer 23 questions in 10 minutes, Which includes the time to read the passages- so speed is needed, as well as accuracy.

Reading Comprehension Test Sample Question:

A day of national mourning is one marked by mourning and memorial activities observed among the majority of a country's populace. Most of these days are determined by that nation's government. Sociologists claim that national mourning is both a symbolic and political gesture, as well as a meaningful expression of grief.

On the one hand, predetermined mourning days reflect and create a sense of national community, united in a feeling of loss. On the other hand, and mostly in the case of mourning days instigated by the people, such as the day of Princess Diana’s funeral, they reflect a spontaneous bout of pure grief manifested in the closing of shops and banks, and the cancellation of sports, theater and cinema showings.

Although the intensity of the mourning can differ dramatically from one country to another, there is no doubt that a day of collective grief is extremely good for national unity.

Which one of the following statements is definitely correct in light of the text?

A. All mourning days are determined  by the government.
B. Mounring days create national unity.
C. Princess Diana's mourning day was predetermined.
D. Leisure activities are always cancelled on a day of mourning.
Correct Answer
Incorrect Answer

The correct answer is B.

In order to conclude which of the statements is definitely correct, we must locate them in the text and find which of them is explicitly mentioned there:
Answer choice (a)- The passage describes two types of mourning days (determined by the government or instigated by the people). Thus, one cannot conclude that all mourning days are determined by the government.
Answer choice (b)- The last sentence of the passage states that: ”there is no doubt that a day of collective grief is extremely good for national unity”. Therefore we can conclude that this answer choice is definitely correct.
Answer choice (c)- In the passage, Princess Diana's death is given as an example of a mourning day instigated by the people. Therefore this answer choice is incorrect.
Answer choice (d)- Although the example shows that leisure activities were, in fact, cancelled on the day of Diana's funeral, we cannot assert with certainty that this is the case every mourning day. Therefore we cannot state this with certainty.

Tip: Since each text comes with 5-6 questions, it may be a good idea to read it through once before starting the questions, as it may save you time when looking for answers. Interested in practicing more Reading Comprehension questions? See our free Verbal Reasoning practice test.

What is The Geico Hiring Process?

Geico has two different sectors of applications. Candidates may either apply for a sales, customer service, and claims and auto damage consultant position, or to Geico's leadership program, IT, and corporate positions. The two fields have similar application processes, with a few tweaks.

1. Submit Application

It is preferred to apply for a position at Geico online, but it is also possible to do so in person at a local Geico office. At this stage you will schedule the phone interview. It is important to research what Geico is looking for in its employees before the interview.

2. Initial Phone Interview

This is a general phone interview that lasts around 20 minutes. Interviewers will ask background and experience questions.

3. Geico Assessment Test

The Geico assessment test described on this page is considered tough and requires preparation. The assessment test varies depending on the position. For sales and customer service positions, the assessment focuses more on your reading comprehension, typing, and computer skills, as well as your ability to multi-task. When dealing with claims and auto damage, you are tested on spatial recognition and reading comprehension in order to determine if you can accurately explain what you see and if you can understand the claim. It is important to note that you will not be able to complete all the questions. However, it is still crucial to work quickly and accurately to complete as many as possible.

4. In-Person Interview

You will only get to this stage if you passed the assessment test. It consists of a general interview as well as a role play. You will simulate real-world situations, and the interviewer will assess how you handle stress, multi-tasking, and work-related curveballs.

5. Background Check

A regular background check and a drug test finish the recruitment process.

How Do You Know if You Passed Geico Assessment Test?

Applicants will usually receive their results via email although some may receive a job offer right after the assessment, so be sure to take to bring two forms of identification with you to the assessment.
