What is the Schroders Online Assessment?
The Schroders Online Assessment is the second step of the application process for the Schroders Graduate Scheme and Internship programme.
Provided by AON/cut-e, the Schroders Online Assessment is a series of 3 mini-tests designed to evaluate whether you possess the logical abilities, behavioural tendencies, and work-related personality required for working at Schroders.
Let’s go through them!
💡 Notice that Schroders has changed its test provider from SHL to AON/cut-e.
JobTestPrep’s Schroders Online Assessment PrePack provides all the tools you need to ace the Aon/Cut-E tests, with full simulations, detailed explanations, and study guides.
ChatAssess is a situational judgment test (SJT) that gauges your performance in workplace scenarios, focusing on the essential behaviours required for your job.
Unlike the traditional SJT, this gamified version is intended to both engage you and provide you with a realistic workplace experience that you are likely to encounter if you successfully pass the assessment.
You will be presented with a chat-like format in which you will be asked questions and given assignments from your managers and colleagues. You will need to choose the best response from several possible options.
You will have 15-20 questions to address in 30 minutes.
Let’s see how it looks –
Tip: Before providing your response, take a moment to analyse the situation you are given. Consider your position within the company, the relevant factors, potential consequences, and any alternative solutions that may be available.

SwitchChallenge, also known as cut-e Scales sx, is a reasoning evaluation of your deductive logical thinking and ability to understand principles and patterns and apply them to solve problems.
You will be presented with two or three rows of symbols. One row change from the other using a sequence of digit operators.
You will need to find the correct operator that transforms the upper row to match the lower row.
You will have 6 minutes to complete as many tasks as possible.
Let’s try one –
Tip: Look for any recurring patterns or changes in the arrangement of symbols from one position to another and pay attention to the relationships between symbols and their positions.
ADEPT-15 is a personality questionnaire designed to capture your behavioural tendencies, workplace styles and attitudes.
You will be presented with pairs of statements.
Every pair has a scale ranging from "strongly agree" to "slightly agree." You will need to indicate which statement you agree with more and the degree to which you agree.
You will have 100 statements to address. There is no time limit, and it takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Let’s see an example –
Which statement do you agree with more?
Most of the time, I tend to hold a positive perspective
I enjoy collaborating with others towards a shared goal
Strongly Agree
slightly Agree
Slightly Agree
Strongly Agree
Tip: Before submitting your reply, take a moment to reflect on your own behaviour, preferences, and tendencies. Consider how you typically respond in work-related situations and select the response that best aligns with both your natural inclinations and the working behaviour required in the position you applied for.

Schroders offers graduate schemes and intern programmes:
Applicants in their last year of study (pursuing a degree or master's qualification) or have recently completed their studies.
The programme usually starts on the third Thursday of September.
Applicants who are undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study and Final year students who intend to pursue a master's degree after the internship.
The programme is ten weeks long and takes place during the summer, generally from June – August.
The applications for both programmes are opened each year between September to November, and the recruitment is done on a rolling basis; thus, the sooner you submit your application, the better.
After submitting your application on Schroders’s website, you will go through a multi-step process that includes –
If you have done well on the Schroders tests, you will receive an invitation to an online pre-recorded video interview to be completed in your own time. Video interviews differ from regular interviews in that your answers are recorded via webcam and reviewed by a senior member of the company only later.
The Schroders video interview is administered through the HireVue platform, and it comprises 4-6 questions – a mix of firm-oriented, business-oriented, competency, and motivation-based questions.
You will be given 30 seconds to prepare your answer and 2 minutes to record it.

The Schroders assessment centre is unique because it differs depending on the job you’re applying for. All jobs and programmes contain a competency-based interview with either a member of HR, a manager from your designated business unit or a senior executive within Schroders. Other activities at the assessment centre can include job simulation tasks, such as a group exercise, a presentation and a case study.
The assessment centre usually spans an entire day at one of the Schroders office locations.
Your day at the Schroders assessment centre provides an excellent opportunity for networking and connecting with senior staff members as well as recent graduates.
Candidates who have passed the assessment centre are invited to one final interview at Schroders' offices. This interview is conducted by senior members of the business area you're applying for and is designed to get to know you better and familiarise you with your train of thought. It contains competency-based questions and questions about your personal life and the programme you're applying for.
The Schroders final interview is relevant only for the graduate programme applicants.
You will meet with a senior team member directly involved in the specific business area related to the scheme you are applying for. You will be asked questions regarding your application, experience, and plans for the future and will be given more details on what will be expected from you during the programme.
This is also your chance to ask questions and find out what the programme requires once you are accepted.
